This exhibition showcasing three Junior Fine Arts Painting students will explore various modes of working on paper. Diverse and creative, the artists will present work using many processes such as drawing, painting, collage, and printmaking. Coombs, Berringer, and Matthews express their ideas in very different ways. Walter Matthews uses the human figure and space as a vehicle for revealing intriguing relationships of line and form. Cody Berringer uses a unique drawing style to abstract the form of familiar objects, to create a context in which the object appears completely neutral. Matt Coombs' work explores processes of creating a mental construct to explain abstract concepts. The exhibition will be an exciting visual experience that covers a wide range of contemporary processes and ideas in art-making. With diligent attention to craft and aesthetic as well as creating thought-provoking artwork, these artists will come together to provide an exhibition inspired by a long history of artists working on paper.
